Velvet revolution ended in Armenia with the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan. After one-week appointment on the position of prime minister, the head of the government was forced to resign. Together with Sargsyan, the full membership of Cabinet of Ministers stepped down . The announcement was made recently by the Armenian President. Now after public protests for 11 days, the end of Sargsyan epoch is celebrated in the country.
Before the Prime Minister"s resignation, the militia joined the protest march, and in parallel the authorities held talks with the detained leaders of the opposition, after which opposition lawmakers were released. At this moment the demonstration of victory at the Republic Square is underway.
