David Narmania will head the Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission. The decision was made by a four-member commission unanimously. Officially he will start to work tomorrow, after the new chairman is approved at the GNERC session.
Davit Narmania has once tried to become the chairman of the Georgian Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission. For the post he was nominated by the President of Georgia.
The process came to a standstill after Khatuna Gogorishvili, a member of European Georgia, reminded the ruling party that the President"s administration had no right to nominate the GNERC chairman. It was necessary to make some amendments in the law in order to elect GNERC chairman.
