Georgia’s fourth president, Giorgi Margvelashvili, welcomes the nationwide protests in the country.
According to him, the unity of the opposition is connected with the ineffective work of the Government.
“We saw an abusive lie from the authorities when they rejected the proportional elections. The people in power today have never been in politics, unfortunately they have not even watched the political processed on television. Otherwise, they would have known that following such rallies and counter-rallies people abjure their government, they would have known that doing it is very dangerous for the country as well as for them personally.
I see the danger of a total weakness and helplessness of the government, which will lead us to some excesses. These excesses can be uncomfortable, but I do not see the threat of civil confrontation”, - said Giorgi Margvelashvili.
