The National Bank sells USD 20 mIn during its Foreign Exchange Auction

The National Bank of Georgia sold USD 20 000 000 during its Foreign Exchange Auction. Such a statement appeared on the official website of the NBG today, April 27

According to the National Bank, the average weighted bid rate was 3.2035.

Against the backdrop of the outbreak of the coronavirus and the global oil crisis, the Georgian national currency, the lari, has significantly depreciated against the USD in recent weeks.

As of today, 1 USD costs 3.2044 GEL, while 1 EUR costs 3.479 GEL.
