The campaign of Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya does not recognize the preliminary results of the Belarusian presidential election reported by the Central Elections Commission.
She confirmed that she views herself as the winner of the August 9 presidential election: “Of course! Just look at what’s going on at polling stations”.
Tikhanovskaya said her campaign will prove multiple election falsifications and will file a complaint against the official election results with the Central Elections Commission.
“The authorities are trying to retain their position through force. Our campaign has been receiving unconfirmed reports of deaths [resulting from overnight clashes between protesters and the police]. If this is true, it"s the beginning of the end”, - she said.
Tikhanovskaya added that she has no intention of leaving Belarus: “I don’t see a single reason why I should be arrested, and I’m not going to leave the country”.
