It is for the people of Georgia to decide who’s going to lead you - Kelly Degnan

It is for the people of Georgia to decide who’s going to lead you, there is a democratic process here. Such a statement made today US Ambassador to Georgia.

“The death of Lekso was really tragic and shocking to everyone. Our prayers go to his family, his friends, his colleagues and all of you who may have worked with him.

It is for the people of Georgia to decide who’s going to lead you, there is a democratic process here. Again, we would want to see the democratic process and not violence in the streets.

Violence in any form is unacceptable. But particularly so when it is aimed at disrupting people from exercising their constitutional rights, whether it"s freedom of the press, media freedom, or freedom of assembly, or the movement to have a march for dignity, whether you"re a minority or the majority. There is a responsibility to protect citizens and to prevent violence, which is fundamental.

It is for the people of Georgia to decide who’s going to lead you, there is a democratic process here. Again, we would want to see the democratic process and not violence in the streets”, - said Kelly Degnan.
