At least 18 dead after Russia bombs mall in Ukraine - a 3-day mourning period has been declared in Kremenchuk

A three-day mourning period has been declared in Kremenchuk in honour of the victims of the Russian attack on the shopping complex.

At least 18 people have been reported dead in the brutal attack carried out by invading troops on Monday.

The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, described the incident as the “deadliest” in European history.

“We are working to dismantle the construction so that it is possible to get machinery in there since the metal elements are very heavy and big, and disassembling them by hand is impossible”, - said Volodymyr Hychkan, an emergency services official.

At Ukraine’s request, the U.N. Security Council scheduled an emergency meeting in New York on Tuesday to discuss the attack.
