Parliament of Georgia is to send humanitarian aid to Turkey for the earthquake-affected people - Shalva Papuashvili

The Parliament starts a charity action in aid of the Turkish people injured amid the earthquake. Such a statement made today the Speaker of legislature at the plenary session.

“I call on you – all MPs to get engaged in the action. I have already addressed the Board of Treasurers to direct the sums deduced in December from the salaries of MPs for their absence with no good reason”, - added Shalva papuashvili.

The Parliament opened a special bank account for MPs and staffers to transfer the amounts of money they can afford for the preparation of humanitarian aid.

The food and various household appliances will be sent to Turkey in the nearest future.
