Meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission is underway at the headquarters of the Alliance. According to the Georgian Foreign Minister, participants will discuss the country’s existing cooperation with the alliance and plans for future “joint activities”.
Ilia Darchiashvili praised the outcomes of the 2022 NATO Madrid Summit, which offered a “tailored” assistance programme for Georgia to further strengthen its defence capabilities.
“This is the traditional, annual format of NATO-Georgia cooperation, in which we prepare for future cooperation each year. At the previous year’s NATO meeting in Madrid, Georgia got important backing from Alliance member states, which hugely boosted Georgia’s NATO integration process. The process of Georgia’s accession to NATO continues. We will review the current agenda and future activities within the NATO-Georgia commission”, - said the Minister.
